The evening before Matsuri is Zenyasai. Now in its 4th year, Zenyasai brings together music, food, and community for a unique outdoor celebration. With summer atmosphere, cold drinks, and a soundtrack provided by top DJs, right in our beautiful traditional Japanese garden at Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre in Burnaby.

Imagine this: A warm end-of-summer evening, a cold beer or sake in hand, and soft garden lights all around. Step into the perfect setting to relax, celebrate, and dance under the open sky.

Online tickets: $12 + tax
Purchase advance tickets online on Eventbrite for priority entry.
On event day: $15 tax included

• Paid admission is required for Adults 18–64 years old.
• Online tickets are available for $12 + tax in advance. Tickets on event day are $15 tax included.

Free — no tickets or bookings required for:

• NNMCC members (presentation of membership card required at entrance)
• Children/Youth 0–17 years old
• Seniors 65+

Tickets

• Your ticket is valid for Friday, September 4, 2026 (Zenyasai) only.
• If you want to visit Nikkei Matsuri (Saturday & Sunday), tickets are available on the Nikkei Matsuri Eventbrite page.
• Ticket price includes the Eventbrite fee.
• We encourage you to present your ticket (QR code) on a mobile device, but you can print it out too.
• Please have your QR code ready for scanning at the entrance.

Refund Policy

• Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event starts.
• Eventbrite fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund.

Pets and Animals

• Service Animals are allowed anywhere.
• Pets are allowed in the front garden.
• Pets are not allowed inside the building.

Wearing Costumes
People wearing costumes covering your face (e.g. kigurumi) cannot enter the paid areas.

Beer Garden / Sake Garden
Two pieces of ID are required.
