Emancipation Freedom Train Ride 2026

The Emancipation Freedom Train Ride is an annual community event that commemorates Emancipation Day through music, reflection and a symbolic late-night subway journey.

This year, we will be starting at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station and boarding the train to Union Station.

We ask all attendees to meet us outside at Transit Park, located at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre SmartCentres, at 10:30 p.m. sharp. The ceremony will commence at 10:45 p.m., after which we will board the train and arrive at Union Station at approximately12:30 a.m.

Please bring non-perishable food donations to support local food banks.
