The Hidden Cost of Productivity

How to recognize when another task is keeping you from the conversation, decision, or boundary that will actually grow your business.

POV: You caught yourself opening your laptop at 11pm — not because the work was urgent, but because stopping meant feeling what just happened on that call.

You know the move. The project drafts that could have waited. The emails that didn't need to go out that night. The inbox you cleaned instead of sitting with the discomfort of what you didn't say.

You'd call yourself productive, not avoidant. That's exactly why this pattern is so hard to catch — it looks like work ethic from the outside.

The Hidden Cost of Productivity is a free, focused mini-workshop that teaches you to catch the overworking-as-avoidance pattern before you finish it — so the energy you've been pouring into busywork starts going toward the one response that actually moves your business forward: a clean no, a held price, a boundary that doesn't require an apology paragraph.

What's Actually Happening

Effort and progress have quietly decoupled. You're exhausted from busywork with nothing to show for it, and you can't quite pinpoint why — because the real cause isn't your schedule. It's what you're avoiding by staying "busy": the hard conversation, the price you haven't held, the no you haven't said.

What You'll Walk Away With

The ability to name "overworking-as-avoidance" the moment it starts — not hours or days later

A practical reflection tool you can use that same evening, the first time it happens

A concrete example of the difference between busywork and the one action that actually moves things forward

A head start on the Gap Log work used throughout The Empowered Entrepreneur

In This Hour, We'll Cover

What overworking-as-avoidance actually is — and why it's the most disguised entry point into a self-trust problem

A live pattern-catch practice, using a real example from your own week

The reflection tool, taught step-by-step, so you can use it the same night

Busywork vs. the one real action — a concrete side-by-side comparison

Your first use of the tool, and what it sets up next

Is This For You?

This is for you if you've noticed yourself staying at your desk later than you needed to — not because the work was urgent, but because stopping meant sitting with something uncomfortable. If you've never connected "I work too much" to "I'm avoiding a specific feeling," that connection is exactly what this workshop makes obvious.
