On Friday, July 28, local resident Al Pratt is celebrating his 60th birthday in a way that reflects what matters most to him—music, community, and giving back.

Instead of gifts, Al is inviting everyone to join him at Side Launch Brewing Company for Rock for a Reason, an unforgettable evening featuring Ontario's premier Tragically Hip tribute band, Hip Check.

Even better, 100% of ticket sales will be donated directly to My Friend's House, helping provide shelter, support, and hope for women and children experiencing gender-based violence in South Georgian Bay.

No stranger to the stage himself, Al is a regular percussionist with Side Launch Brewery’s “house band” Strange Potatoes, and has become popular for his many improvised New Orleans is Sinking mid song rants.

"It's a birthday party, but it's really about giving back," says organizer Daryl Pratt. "All has always loved The Tragically Hip, and having Hip Check perform while raising money for such an important local organization makes this the perfect way to celebrate."
