How do I find the link to attend the Zoom Info Session event?

We will email you the morning of your scheduled session and provide you with the Zoom link. Please be sure to check ALL of your folders (including Spam, Junk, Updates, etc.) for our email.

Do you GUARANTEE IndigiTECH participants virtual internships?

We cannot guarantee positions for any participant as this remains in the hands of you, our amazing prospective mentees though active participation and attendance! Our internship availability also can be impacted by the broader aspects of the Canadian economy and job market.

Do I need to be Indigenous?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  This program is solely intended for people of Indigenous ancestry (First Nations, Inuit, or Metis). *You must be Indigenous to Canada*

Question 4

Do I need to be Canadian and living in Canada to participate?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  You need to be living in Canada, Indigenous, and have a SIN number as either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to be accepted into the program.

What DO you GUARANTEE IndigiTECH program participants?

We guarantee our program participants ongoing learning and professional development opportunities which present both shared and exclusive virtual internship and career pathway openings from leading tech and/or virtual organizations.

Question 6

Do I need a high school diploma to be accepted in?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not need a high school diploma, but you do need to be at least 16 years of age and work-ready for an entry level job (able to read and write at a basic level and have basic computer literacy).

Do I get a FREE laptop & digital art pad?

Accepted Answer

YES! Participants who successfully complete/attend all three phases of programming are indeed awarded permanent ownership of the laptop. However participants MUST graduate the program in order to achieve this.

Do I get a mentor?

YES! We pair mentees up with knowledgeable, experienced mentors throughout the program in both group and individual settings to help participants not only succeed but thrive throughout the program.

What happens if I discontinue programming before it ends?

Discontinuing programming sometimes happens! We understand! What we ask for is simply the safe return of the IFA laptop and artpad issued at the beginning of programming via mail and a brief exit interview to be completed by the participant.

How do I enroll?

In order to enroll in the program, you must meet the eligibility requirements, attend the Zoom Info Session, complete the Pre-course material, and come to a 1:1 intake meeting.  To stay in the program, you must maintain a 70% attendance  and assignment turn-in rate.

Question 11

Is this program full-time?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  This is a full-time program starting at 10:00am EST going until 5:15PM EST. You must fully be committed to coming to our online, Zoom classes and actively participate in them (meaning not trying to be at another job, taking another class while in class, or caregiving for very young children).
