A brief synopsis:

Women have been important to London’s history and development from its earliest years. In this talk, Dr. Amber Lloydlangston will introduce some unique personalities, sharing their stories and contributions. You will meet Anne McCormick Porte whose reminiscences of early London bring the earliest days of the community to life. You’ll meet Harriet Priddis, a colourful and energetic amateur historian, artist, and traveller. You’ll encounter politicians Jane Bigelow and Arielle Kayabaga as well as entrepreneurs such as freedom seeker Margaret Henderson and milliner Constance Humphrys. After this talk, you’ll understand that the history of London truly comes to life when the contributions of women are highlighted.
