Policy Matters: Data Sovereignty and Low-Earth Orbit Satellites
Policy Matters is back with our second panel on Data Sovereignty and Low-Earth Orbit Satellites: Unexpected costs of the space race
Welcome to Policy Matters! The mission of this speaker series is to amplify public policy discussions, present new research, encourage research-informed policy, and provide a forum for the broader community to engage with the critical questions that shape our world today. Tonight's topic is Data Sovereignty and Low-Earth Orbit Satellites: Unexpected costs of the space race. We will be asking the question, “How do we navigate competing needs around data privacy, sovereignty, and technological development, as Canada expands its reach into space?”
Join the MacEachen Institute in the Irving Oil Auditorium on the Dalhousie Sexton Campus, located in the heart of downtown Halifax. We are delighted to welcome our expert panelists:
- Alexander MacIsaac, Research Manager, Samara Centre for Democracy;
- Arad Gharagozli, CEO, Galaxia Mission Systems
- Dr. Andrea Harrington, Co-Director, Institute of Air and Space Law, McGill University
The event begins at 5:30pm with a panel discussion moderated by MacEachen Institute Director Dr. Jerry Bannister, followed by an audience Q&A.
