Halloween How-To: Trick-or-Treat Practice
This event is a supportive opportunity for children and families to practice Halloween activities in a predictable, welcoming environment!
Join us for a free, family-friendly community event and practice trick-or-treating before October 31!
Halloween can be exciting, fun, and also...a lot to navigate... That's why we created Halloween How-To: Trick-or-Treat Practice which is a relaxed, family-friendly event designed to give kids a chance to experience navigating Halloween traditions and costumes, before the big night.
About This Event:
Families can come practice parts of the trick-or-treating experience at our Centre where we will have staff available to help you navigate, visual and communication supports as well as our sensory supports on site, including access to our sensory room.
Some of the experiences your family can practice include:
- Trying on or wearing a costume
- Walking around with your trick-or-treat basket or bag
- Approaching and knocking on a door
- Saying Trick-or-Treat or communicating in another way
- Moving from one stop to the next
- Simply watching and becoming more familiar with what to expect.
This event is designed to be neuro-affirming and neurodivergent-friendly. Families are welcome to participate at their own pace, take breaks, skip parts if needed, and experience this practice event in the way that works best for them.
