Johnannes Skoog: Organ Music

Johannes Skoog (b. 1992) is one of Sweden’s leading organists. He studied at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm, the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, and the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, where he was awarded the highest final grade in the institution’s history. Winner of the 2024 Canadian International Organ Competition, Skoog also received the Bach Prize and the prize for best overall program and repertoire selection.

Skoog has held positions as organist at Västerås Cathedral, Hedvig Eleonora Church, and Storkyrkan (Stockholm Cathedral). He performs regularly as a recitalist in Europe and North America. He is a recipient of the Sixten Gemzéus Grand Music Scholarship, Sweden’s largest music scholarship. In November 2024, he was appointed Court Organist to His Majesty the King of Sweden. He is also Concert Hall Organist at Konserthuset Stockholm, a position he took up in autumn 2026.
