Scenes can be thought of as the engines of story. They move the plot forward, deepen our understanding of characters and place, help create meaning and mood, raise or release tension and challenge our protagonists. Through fun, short writing exercises we will work together to build powerful scenes using our senses, dialogue, specificity and pacing.
No formal writing experience is required for any of these half-day courses. They are designed to be fun as well as instructive. Sharing your work is always optional!
This is workshop two of a three part workshop series. Take one, two or all three of these opportunities to develop writing skills here at The Lebel!
Part 1: Writing Memorable Memoir November 21st, 2026
Part 2: Writing Powerful Scenes January 16th, 2027
