Climate Change & Sustainable Food: A  Virtual Cook-Along

PEYA is a network of over 1400 environmentally-minded youth from across the Region of Peel aged 13 to 24. We provide a forum to share ideas, learn new skills, network with like-minded peers and professionals, and acquire community service volunteer hours. The Peel Environmental Youth Alliance is generously supported by Climate Impact Fund and The Peterborough KM Hunter Charitable Foundation.

Join PEYA for an evening of cooking and important conversations on food sustainability and reducing your carbon 'foodprint.'

On Thursday, November 25th, 2021 at 5-6:30 pm (EST), the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance (PEYA) will be hosting our November event on Climate Change and Food Sustainability! Join us for a virtual cook-along and to take part in conversations about the food industry in an environmental context and how to reduce your carbon &#x27;foodprint.&#x27; We will welcome Cynthia Goldrup, classically trained chef and environmentalist, who will be leading the cook-along and discussion. She will be presenting her workshop, &quot;Pickling, A look at Food Preservation: Cooking, Food History, Limiting Food Waste and Promoting Accessibility.&quot; All ingredients will be provided! Participants can sign up for a pick-up time-slot in the registration form. Ingredient kit will need to be picked up at a location in central Mississauga, Ontario. Should you require accommodations, please let us know. This session will take place over Zoom. A link to join the event will be sent out to those who have registered. We hope to see you there!
