Overview

Get ready to dive into real-world mining challenges and unleash your ideas in a fast-paced, one-day hackathon!

Welcome to the 2026 Mining Hackathon!

Supported by SIMSA, IMII, and Innovation Saskatchewan

Join us at Collider Space on January 17, 2026 at 8:00 AM for a day filled with innovation, creativity, and hands-on problem solving.

A Hackathon is an event where students come together to brainstorm solutions to real industry needs and present their ideas to a panel of industry judges. Whether you’re a seasoned Hackathon participant or a complete beginner, there’s a place for you—no prior experience required.

Get ready to brainstorm, collaborate, and build exciting projects that could make a real impact on the mining sector. Industry experts will be onsite as mentors and judges, giving you a valuable chance to learn from professionals and expand your network.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect, create, and have a blast. Mark your calendars—we’ll see you there!

A mandatory pre-event info session will be held on Monday, January 12th at 6:00 PM in ENG 2C01. The purpose of this session is to introduce teams to the industry problems so you can come fully prepared for January 17th. This session will be hosted by the Executive Director of IMII.
