The American Welding Association (AWS) Alberta Section is a volunteer organization dedicated to the advancement of welding and associated disciplines in the Province of Alberta, Canada. Our 1st event of the year is a discussion of the application and metallurgy behind one of the most abrasive resistant materials available.

The Speaker: TAHER HOSSEINZADEH, P.Eng.Taher is President and senior design engineer of Demir Engineering Ltd., a material and metallurgical engineering company located in Edmonton, Alberta. As an engineering and manufacturing firm, Demir Engineering offers a variety of services and products such as the design and manufacture of metal casting parts for different industrial and engineering applications.Taher began his career in the metal casting automotive industry as a metallurgist and continued as product design engineer. Taher has experience in mining, oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure. During his career that spans more than two decades, Taher has established his reputation combining materials engineering and manufacturing techniques to offer innovative and custom engineered products out of metal alloys.
