Come explore some mental health data/insights and learn how you can use Navi!

In September 2020, the University of Toronto launched “Navi”, an anonymous virtual assistant (chatbot) which is a wayfinding tool to explore mental health resources, services and programs both on campus and in the community. Using natural language processing, Navi is constantly growing and learning as we continue to improve the tool with the help of staff and students. In this session you will learn about how the system works on the back end, explore some mental health data/insights we’ve gleaned from Navi, and learn how you can provide suggestions/feedback on the tool. Meagan Lau (she/her) is currently the Project Manager, Mental Health Virtual Assistant at the University of Toronto. With 8+ years working in student services, she has overseen various portfolios from supporting student clubs &amp; the Co-Curricular Record to Student Success. Currently Meagan applies her skills to systems and digital platforms geared towards improving the student experience. She holds a Masters of Education (MEd) and Masters of Information (MI) in User Experience Design from the University of Toronto. About Grad MindsFormed through a student initiative at the University of Toronto in September 2013, Grad Minds is now officially recognized as the Mental Health Advisory Committee of the University of Toronto Graduate Students&#x27; Union (UTGSU). We promote well-being and provide mental health education through programs, initiatives, and events, with a focus on developing psychological resilience, personal skill development, self-care practices, and de-stigmatizing mental health problems.
