Sports broadcaster Michael Landsberg  speaks about his mission to show the world that mental illnesses are sicknesses, not weaknesses.

Michael Landsberg has been a sports broadcaster all his life. He started at TSN when TSN launched in 1984, and he left TSN in the summer of 2021. For 18 years he hosted a show called Off the Record. He ended up hosting (and producing) 3,900 episodes. He says one show stands out above the rest. That was a show in 2009 when he shared his battle with severe depression. He learned from the reaction to that show that he had an enormous power to help others with the perception of their illness.In 2016 he and his daughter launched a charity called Sick Not Weak. They exist first and foremost to show the world that mental illnesses like depression and anxiety are sicknesses, not weaknesses.
