Run time: 1 hour 34 minutes with an option to watch in four Chapters (about 20 minutes each)THE STUDY GUIDEThe guide is a companion to the documentary and is designed to start conversations and inspire critical thought about social justice issues. It was developed with educators, child rights advocates and the filmmakers. Student focus groups also contributed valuable feedback in shaping the materials. It includes discussion questions and activities that cover the following learning themes:<ul><li>Volunteering overseas #KnowBeforeYouGo</li><li>Advocating for children’s rights around the world #ChildrenBelongInFamilies</li><li>Rethinking history, power and privilege #ReframeHistory</li><li>Shifting behaviours and policies #InformedGenerosity</li></ul>THE FILMNot About Me is a feature documentary that follows Canadian teenager Morgan Wienberg’s 10-year journey from a naïve orphanage volunteer to a meaningful partner working with Haitians to build a better future. The film shares personal stories about vulnerable children and the people who are learning from helping them within a global context of humanitarian aid, child rights and social justice. This is Morgan’s story, but it is also about the rest of us rethinking how we help and give.REGISTER NOW!
