Mardi Michels is a full-time French teacher to elementary school-aged boys and the author ofeat. live. travel. write- a blog focusing on culinary adventures near and far. She has lived and worked as a teacher in Australia (where she was born), Hong Kong, England, France and now calls Toronto home. She has spent nearly every summer over the past decade in France, honing her cooking and baking skills, touring different wine producing regions and in 2014 she and her husband purchased an historic home in South West France which they operate as avacation rental property.As part of her job, she runs a cooking class twice a week for 7-14 year-old boys,Les Petits Chefsand Cooking Basics. Mardi is a contributor to Food Network Canada and in her spare time teachescooking and baking classesaround Toronto. Mardi's first cookbook ,In the French kitchen with kids,was published in July 2018.

Bake a difference for animals in need this National Cupcake Day 2022!

In 2022, I&#x27;m participating for the TENTH time in National Cupcake Day™ for SPCAs &amp; Humane Societies to bake a difference for animals in need!I am raising urgently-needed funds to support animals in need in my local community, who need it more now than ever, with funds going to the Toronto Humane Society.Because of COVID-19, we can&#x27;t celebrate National Cupcake Day in person together but I&#x27;m hosting a special online baking class where you will learn to make a very special type of cupcake with proceeds going towards the Toronto Humane Society. I hope you will consider joining me online to bake a difference for animals in need!For a minimum donation of $10 per screen/ family (donate <a href="https://secure.ontariospca.ca/site/TR/CupcakeDay/2022NationalCupcakeDay?px=1087176&amp;pg=personal&amp;fr_id=2661" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>) come and learn to bake a special type of cupcake - French &quot;financiers&quot; - two ways. A delicious way to help animals in need!Once you have registered and secured a ticket to the class, you will receive a link to donate if you have not already. Once I have verified your donation, approximately 1 week before the class, you&#x27;ll receive recipes and an equipment and ingredient list so you can bake along! The Zoom link will be sent a few days before the class.
