Come and join us for a walking tour of Downtown Ladysmith as we discuss your active transportation priorities.

Downtown Ladysmith

Downtown Ladysmith is the heart of the town providing a venue for people to congregate, bump into each other, and enjoy pedestrian oriented streets, a village boutique shopping experience, and its historic character. Even though the downtown is walkable, many of the streets do not accommodate the needs of all road users, especially people cycling. The tour will explore the state of transportation infrastructure on Ladysmith’s downtown streets and also touch on some of the existing barriers to accessing the town’s waterfront area. The tour will explore the following topics / questions:•	Are downtown streets safe for all people walking, cycling, and rolling?•	What are some of the improvements that could be considered to make Ladysmith more accessible to all pedestrians?•	What is the current and future role of transit in connecting the community with downtown Ladysmith?•	How could on-street and off-street parking be better managed to improve the overall downtown experience?•	What are the gaps in accessing the waterfront area and what kinds of solutions could be explored?If you are unable to physically participate in a one-hour walking tour, please get in touch by emailing info@ladysmith.ca.
