Come join us for an e-bike tour of South Ladysmith as we discuss your active transportation priorities.

As of 2016, only 1% of total commute trips were by bike but by working together we have the power to create positive change and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Increasing the number of bike trips in Ladysmith will require greater imagination about how existing roads can better accommodate people cycling. This tour will explore the cycling network in South Ladysmith and surrounding area. Participants will have access an electric bicycle (e-bike) to make it easier to move around the town and experience how an e-bike is revolutionizing cycling. Accessing destinations from South Ladysmith can be more challenging by foot and by bike due to the longer distances. However, e-bikes are making trip distances less relevant because the battery assist allows people to cycle longer distances. The tour will explore the following topics / questions:•	What are the key barriers to cycling in South Ladysmith?•	What are some of the cycling facilities that could be considered to make cycling safer and more enjoyable in South Ladysmith?•	What are the main barriers to crossing the Trans-Canada Highway and what solutions are feasible?There are a limited number of spots for this tour. Tour participants will be required to bring their own helmet.****Space is limited to 7 participants for each tour and we kindly ask that you not currently own an electric bike.**
