Grad Minds: UTGSU Official Mental Health Committee

<p>Sound meditations are immersive, deep listening experiences that ask participants to get cozy and tune into the sounds of crystal singing bowls, chimes, voice, drums, and other supportive instrumentation.  With sound as the vehicle for meditation, we have the opportunity to deepen our brainwaves, find points of dreaminess, and regenerate through ritualized rest.  Please have headphones to plug into your device for this offering.</p><h2>Charlie</h2><p><strong>Sound Practitioner</strong></p><p><a href="http://www.meganmariegates.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">C</a>harlie (they/them) is a queer, non-binary sound practitioner, movement guide and performing artist based on Lekwungen Territory (Victoria, BC).   Their offerings are invitations for space-making, deep listening, and re-enchantment through sound meditation, storytelling, and supportive movement.   Alongside teaching yoga for the last 10 years, Charlie has offered sound experiences, retreats, and immersive sound trainings for the last 8 years both in Canada and Internationally. We promote well-being and provide mental health education through programs, initiatives, and events, with a focus on developing psychological resilience, personal skill development, self-care practices, and de-stigmatizing mental health problems.</p>
