Join us for a virtual screening of Duty Free and panel discussion on topics relating to the film, including age discrimination.

We invite you to join us for a free virtual screening of the documentary Duty Free, as well as a panel discussion that will answer your questions about the film, share information about topics covered in the film (e.g., age discrimination), and share information about local Manitoba organizations. This event is presented collaboratively by The Free Press, The Centre on Aging and the Manitoba Seniors Coalition. About the film: After a 75 year-old mother gets fired from her job, her son takes her on a bucket-list adventure to reclaim her life. As she struggles to find work, he documents a journey that uncovers the betrayals plaguing her past and the economic insecurity soon to shape not only her future, but that of an entire generation.Estimated running time: 71 minutesWe will have a live chat going during the screening, so you&#x27;ll be able to talk to other viewers while you watch!Tickets are free, but you must register in order to get the password you need to access the screening, which is hosted on our website. A link will be provided to those who register.The panel discussion will include: Sian-Pierre Regis and Rebecca Danigelis, the mother-son duo from the film.Michelle Porter, PhD, Director, Centre on Aging, University of Manitoba, who is a researcher that studies many aspects of aging including ageism and age-friendly environments.Jeff Palamar, Partner, Taylor McCaffrey LLP, who primarily practices in the areas of labour relations, employment law, human rights, alternative dispute resolution, and sport law.
