About this event

Understanding ourselves is an ongoing endeavour. Knowing more about your conflict styles and how it affects your interactions with others helps you understand:

  • How you react to conflicts
  • How you choose a particular style, and
  • What strengths you can call upon

There are many tools to support your personal journey all around you, friends, family co-workers and online. In this workshop, I will support you in exploring what you find effective about your conflict styles and what goals you have to strengthen your approach. We will use the Styles Matter Inventory created by peacebuilder Ron Kraybill. This inventory has been academically tested with culturally diverse people.

The workshop will take about 4 hours of your time. The time is spread over 2 weeks beginning with a 1 hour Zoom meeting of participants. Over the following two weeks, you will complete the 20 question inventory and review your results on your own schedule. One hour of 1-1coaching to review your results will be provided on Zoom or by phone to help you probe deeper into what new insights the findings might offer you. On June 27th you will meet on Zoom with the participants to discuss your experience (if you want to share), discuss possible further learning, and celebrate your self-care.

I look forward to working with small groups so you receive some concentrated attention.

I live in Ontario Canada. I am a peacebuilder, community builder, a mother of 4, grandmother of 8 and a spouse. My family of origin survived the 2nd World War and came to Canada in 1948. I have a B. A. Honours, Clinical Psychology; and an M. A.in Community Psychology. I have had the privilege of living through many generations and as usual, life has presented me with great joys and sorrows and all that falls in between. My hope in sharing the learnings I have acquired and lived is to help people prevent unnecessary suffering in their lives and hopefully bring the world to a closer state of peace.
