Join us for a gentle and calming class of Ying and Yang Yoga at the West End Family Place!

This is a welcoming and inclusive event for all the families who would like to make more meaningful connections and practice mindfulness together with the community. *Child Minding (only for kids ages 1.5 - 6) will be available at a limited capacity and by request via email only. After booking your ticket, if you wish to bring your kid, you must request their spot by emailing familyplace@gordonhouse.org. Please note, that booking your ticket does not guarantee childminding. <h3>Description of the class:</h3>Please bring a mat to lay on and a blanket if you get cold.The class will begin with gentle stretch and yoga asanas, followed by passive yin yoga asanas. There will also be a sound meditation journey during Yin class and at the end of extended Savasana to relax the body, mind and soul. Sound meditation is one of Ami&#x27;s favourite ways to relax and unwind at the end of a long day. She incorporates crystal singing bowls, Tibetan sound bowls, kalimba, chimes, ocean drums, and other musical instruments in the meditation classes to enhance the relaxation experience and help you transcend into a higher state of bliss!Some of the known benefits of the vibrations created by sound are:• Reducing anxiety• Calming parasympathetic nervous system(fight/flight mode)• Reducing anger, tension, and stress• Improving sleep and reducing fatigueNo prior yoga experience is needed. The movement will be very gentle and suitable for all ages and bodies.About the Facilitator: Ami is a local yoga, meditation, and wellness practitioner on a mission to help provide relaxation and rest to her students. She teaches Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra &amp; Restorative practices along with slow flow/hatha yoga and Pranayama (breathing exercises); she always leads and ends her class with guided/sound meditation and poetry - practicing all 8 limbs of yoga (vs only the Asanas). She is a sound ceremonialist and combines crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, chimes, and other musical instruments to lead you into a deep state of relaxation. She is also a Reiki Master.Her practice is exactly like a bowl of Indian curry - with an explosion of different physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual practices that have helped her in her own healing journey. She aims to nourish her students with compassion, loving kindness, and her positive energy.She has completed a 200-hour Vinyasa/Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification along with Yin and Yoga Nidra certification.
