A virtual tour of the Mi’kmaq Resource Centre at Cape Breton University, for NSCSW members during National Indigenous History Month.

Truth & reconciliation

Members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers are required to complete annual professional development, which must include training or activities related to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's calls for action.

<p>To honour National Indigenous History Month, NSCSW members are invited to join a virtual tour of the <a href="https://www.cbu.ca/indigenous-affairs/mikmaq-resource-centre" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mi’kmaq Resource Centre</a>, part of the <a href="https://www.cbu.ca/indigenous-affairs/unamaki-college" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Unama’ki College</a> family at Cape Breton University. The centre is a repository of documents and a dedicated space for Indigenous research at CBU; it includes important resources such as artifacts from the residential schools. Bring your lunch, log on, and join <a href="https://www.cbu.ca/newsroom/articles/powering-through-hardship-and-inspiring-others-bree-menge/." target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bree Menge</a> as she shares some of the learning resources available to Nova Scotian social workers.</p><h2>Eligibility</h2><p>Must be a current member of the <a href="https://nscsw.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nova Scotia College of Social Workers</a> to attend; all active, associate, retired, and student members are welcome. There is no other prerequisite for this session.
