Since the year 2000, LUSH Valley has been working across the Comox Valley to help people gain local food systems skills, knowledge and access to healthy food. We see good food as a vehicle for empowerment, social justice, celebration and community well being.We are recognized by Community Food Centers Canada as a Good Food Organization and are an Island Health Food Security Hub. Join us on Sunday, September 18th for our second annual Farm to Table Fundraiser at Amara Farm! Seatings at both 12:00 and 5:00 pm.This event will showcase the rich, abundant flavours of the Comox Valley through a series of dishes by The Farmer&#x27;s Kitchen Food Truck. Take in the serenity of Amara Farm while you enjoy your meal alongside local beverages and live music.DATE: September 18th, 2022TIME: 12:00pm, 5:00pmLOCATION: Amara Farm, 2641 Kirby Road, CourtenayThe Farmer’s Kitchen Food Truck draws inspiration from a variety of global street vendors and puts a vibrant twist on dishes by highlighting local, in-season ingredients. Since the summer of 2021, the Farmer’s Kitchen has been collaborating with LUSH Valley on a number of fundraising events, as well as the Hot Meal Program.Amara Farm was started in 2012 by Arzeena and Neil Hamir who shared a dream to grow healthy food for their community. The Farm received its certified organic status in 2015 and has since earned awards such as the Land of Plenty Award (2018) and the Comox Valley Record&#x27;s Best Market Vendor (2019).
