Great Fundy Coastal CleanupLocation: Keiko &amp; Errol Nature Preserve on Ross Island, Grand Manan, NBMeeting Location: Ingalls HeadDate: August 20th, 2022Rain date: August 21st, 2022Time: 9:30am - 7:15pmVolunteers are recommended to take the 9:30am ferry to Grand Manan (for more info, please visit https://grandmanan.coastaltransport.ca/schedule.html)From Grand Manan, volunteers will travel to the wharf pick-up location for boat transportation to Ross Island. You will be cleaning up on the island from approx. 12:30pm to 4:30pm (more information provided upon registration and in advance of the cleanup).To allow time to travel from Ross Island back to the ferry terminal, we recommend planning your return on the 7:15pm ferry.Cost: FreeLeader: Nature Trust of New Brunswick StaffRegistration: OnlineNumber of Available Registrations: 10Description: Help restore the coastal ecosystem by participating in this cleanup at the Keiko &amp; Errol Nature Preserve on Ross Island!The Keiko &amp; Erroll Nature Preserve on Ross Island is composed of rocky shoreline, coastal forest, and wetlands, positioned off of Ingalls Head, Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick.The Keiko &amp; Errol Nature Preserve on Ross Island is part of an Ecologically and Biologically Significant Area with essential habitats home to several rare and uncommon plant species such as seaside ragwort, ghost antler lichen, and estuary sedge. This preserve is also part of the Grand Manan Archipelago Important Bird Area as it is home to rare birds including the red-breasted merganser, great cormorant, red knot, and semipalmated sandpiper.At this cleanup, teams will work together to identify and remove debris along the shorelines of the preserve. Participants should be prepared for travel by boat, collecting garbage, and some bushwhacking. More details will be circulated to participants upon registration and in advance of the cleanup event. Cette réserve fait également partie de la zone importante pour les oiseaux de l&#x27;archipel de Grand Manan, car elle abrite des oiseaux rares comme le harle huppé, le grand cormoran, le bécasseau maubèche et le bécasseau semipalmé.Lors de ce nettoyage, les équipes travailleront ensemble pour identifier et enlever les débris le long des rives de la réserve. Les participants doivent être prêts à voyager en bateau, à ramasser des déchets et à faire un peu de brousse.De plus amples informations seront communiquées aux participants lors de leur inscription et avant l&#x27;événement de nettoyage.Il s&#x27;agit d&#x27;un événement en plein air, veuillez donc vous habiller en fonction de la météo.Ce qu&#x27;il faut apporter :- Vêtement de flottaison individuel (obligatoire)- Chaussures fermées ou bottes de pluie- Vêtements adaptés à la météo - De l&#x27;eau- Repas et collations- Écran solaire- Spray anti-moustiques et/ou filet anti-moustiques- Gants de travail (facultatif)- Appareil photo (facultatif)
