The BC Climate Agri-Solutions Fund (CAF) provides funding to help farmers tackle climate change by adopting beneficial managing practices (BMPs) in three specific areas: Nitrogen Management, Cover Cropping and Rotational Grazing. CAF is funded by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the On-Farm Climate Action Fund and delivered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC.

Join Organic BC for an in-person field day at Fresh Valley Farms! Take a tour of the farm and learn about their rotational grazing practices, cover cropping and forage program, on-farm slaughter/cut/wrap, and field management, and dive deeper into the transition of one field to organic. Agriculture, P.Ag., Range &amp; Field Crop Agrologist, Consultant &amp; Instructor at Thompson Rivers University for the Applied Sustainable Ranching Diploma program.<ul><li>More in depth look at field transitioning from conventional dairy to organic, rotational grazing management; best path forward.</li></ul>11.45am - Noon - Informal farmer mingle/discussionsAbout Percy FolkardPercy farms beef cattle in unceded Secwepemculecw and teaches range ecology, pasture management and grazing planning at Thompson Rivers University for the Applied Regenerative Agriculture Diploma program. With 15 years experience in the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Forests, Percy has worked in several capacities including range and timber policy analysis and development, agroforestry research and development, and management of invasive plant control programs across the southern interior of BC. Percy has a Masters of Science in Environmental Science from Thompson Rivers University specializing in silvopasture systems, specifically livestock grazing in interior forest ecosystems. Percy offers heifers for sale from his second-generation grass-only herd of Speckle Park, Angus and Galloway cross-bred genetics and he provides consulting services to farmers and groups setting up regenerative grazing operations.About Greg TegartGreg is a Professional Agrologist with a ranching family background. He has worked in the agriculture sector for over four decades, primarily with the BC Ministry of Agriculture. Greg has worked throughout BC in a variety of subject areas including: field and forage crops; range and general agricultural extension; project development and implementation; staff management and leadership; and, non-directive coaching and facilitation. Currently, Greg remains active with several agriculture and nature resource societies, and has been enjoying participating in occasional field days and webinars. He is also an instructor for the forage/winter feeding portion of Thompson Rivers University’s Applied Sustainable Ranching Program.This field day is organized by<a href="https://organicbc.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Organic BC</a> and hosted at<a href="https://www.freshvalleyfarms.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Fresh Valley Farms</a>.
