Just Beginning: The First Six Months

A four week program for first-time parents with a baby 0-6 months.

Join other first-time parents* with young babies in a relaxing and supportive environment. Share the “ups and downs” of being a new parent and ask questions. Topics include growth and development, sleep and crying, infant nutrition, safety, and community resources. We choose most topics together based on what is relevant to group members.Meet other new parents in person at Childreach to share all that comes with this new role. Babies will enjoy a variety of mat-based play and exploration in our circle while we talk. This program runs on Thursday afternoons from 1:30-2:30pm beginning September 22 and ending October 13. While we understand that unexpected circumstances may keep you away, we ask that you prepare to attend all four Thursdays when you register for Just Beginning. Attending consistently allows you to grow comfortable in the group setting, to build connections, and to share and talk with familiar folks as the weeks pass. Planning Your VisitsTo ensure an enjoyable and safe visit for everyone, we kindly ask all visitors to:<ul><li>Use the <a href="https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ontario School &amp; Childcare wellness screening</a> to determine if it’s safe to attend. </li><li>Wash and sanitize hands often. Sanitizing stations are available in the program space.</li><li>Bring beverages in a reusable, non-spill container. Snacks are not permitted in our program spaces at this time, but can be enjoyed in our lobby snack area. </li></ul>*We offer Just Beginning to any new parent that provides primary or consistent care in their infant&#x27;s earliest months. Please sign up only one parent from your family to preserve space and ensure that each participant is comfortable sharing in a peer support setting.
