(Vancouver, BC) – UNSCRIPTED: It Lives in My Bedroom (ILIMB) is excited to invite you back in-person to PTC on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 7:30pm PST at Progress Lab! Playwright, director and researcher Mily Mumford, with design collaboration by Chimerik 似不像 - Lighting, Projection Design &amp; New Media Art Collective, brings you into the world of It Lives in my Bedroom. A heightened “art-house horror” immersive theatre experience, ILIMB explores how survivors of sexualized violence with PTSD navigate subsequent relationships from a survivor’s voice and perspective.Enjoy a research party meets “horror salon” where you can interact with new media installations. Get a sneak peek into the story, aesthetic and immersive quality of the piece. There will also be a panel conversation with horror creatives and mental health professionals digging into the psychology of the horror genre and how it can be used as a controlled way to process our inner fears. Grab a non-alcoholic drink from our patio bar (dress warmly!) and put on your lab coat to contribute to our research to see what scares YOU. Content Warning: Installations and discussions may describe and/or reference themes of horror, PTSD, sexualized violence and trauma. No actions of sexualized violence will be shown in any aspect of the event or project. There may be blinking or flickering lights or projection and some sudden loud sounds as well as haze integrated into the installation designs. A counsellor/supportive listener will be identified onsite.If using Eventbrite is a barrier for purchasing tickets, please contact community@playwrightstheatre.com for alternative ways of booking and payment.
