The Pond Deshpande Center (PDC) is New Brunswick’s social innovation partner of choice. Founded at the University of New Brunswick in 2012 with a visionary donation from entrepreneurs Gerry Pond and Gururaj and Jaishree Deshpande, PDC use social innovation and social entrepreneurship as tools to address and help solve some of society’s most pressing challenges. We develop inclusive workforces, invigorate civic innovation, and create more just economic systems.

Le français suitIf the pandemic taught us anything, it’s that the magic happens when you get people together. The first Social Enterprise Excellence conference is designed to do just that - bring together social enterprise leaders from all stages from across the province to get together, discuss their practice, learn from each other and deepen their practice. You’ll also get to see the results of 4 months of work from social enterprise practitioners as they present the results of their work growing their social enterprise practice in NB. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with the Social Enterprise Advisory Council of NB, and hear from our province’s top social enterprise leaders.The event will be held during the afternoon of Thursday, June 15th, 2023. Join us from 1:30 - 4PM for the conference, and from 4 - 6PM for our networking reception.O﻿ur keynote speaker will be Perry Kendal, CEO of Habitat for Humanity NB. With over 30 years of leadership and project management experience, Perry was appointed as CEO of Habitat for Humanity New Brunswick in April 2023, following the amalgamation of Habitats in the province. He previously held the position of CEO, Habitat Fredericton Area since 2016. He has participated in Habitat Global Village trips to Zambia and Bolivia. Previously, he worked in senior leadership roles with both Delta and Canadian Pacific Hotels. He has served in various volunteer roles in non-profits and industry associations. Perry has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Mary&#x27;s University and lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick with his wife and has three adult sons.-﻿-Si la pandémie nous a appris quelque chose, c&#x27;est que la magie opère quand on rassemble les gens. Vous aurez l&#x27;occasion de rencontrer le Conseil consultatif sur l&#x27;entreprise sociale du N.-B. et d&#x27;entendre le principal dirigeant d&#x27;entreprise sociale de notre province.L&#x27;événement aura lieu dans l&#x27;après-midi du jeudi 15 juin 2023. Joignez-vous à nous de 13h30 à 16 h pour la conférence, et de 16 h à 18 h pour notre réception de réseautage.Notre conférencier principal sera Perry Kendal, PDG d&#x27;Habitat pour l&#x27;humanité NB.
