As part of the Office of the Vice-President (Research) portfolio, we help to bridge the gap between discovery and innovation. Join us for the inaugural month of community programming at the Social Innovation Hub!

I﻿n recognition of Black History Month, the Social Innovation Hub is thrilled to be hosting a Black Professionals Community Lunch and Celebration!Attendees will have the opportunity to connect and build community over catered lunch. The event will also feature story telling from Black professionals around the peaks, valleys, and learnings in their career journeys to where they are today.O﻿ur featured speakers include Latosia Campbell-Walters, Founder of Sparks Planning Group, and Nigel Joseph, Founder of MindFull Solutions Inc.Latosia Campbell-Walters

Latosia Campbell- Walters, RPP, MCIP, PMP, is the owner of Sparks Planning Group, a boutique urban planning and business consulting firm. She is a strategic thinker focused on getting clients&#x27; results by identifying their strengths in their business and with people and bringing out the best in them. With over a decade of experience in social, land use and project planning, she has learned that projects, processes, and people function best when you foster a collaborative environment that places people in a role where they can thrive. She is a passionate leader and strategic thinker committed to providing the right kinds of professional services to meet the needs of her clients. She is currently working on a social innovation project that matches her customers with the right expertise as they scale and grow a lean organization. Through this work, Latosia is helping organizations find the needed skills and provide expertise in utilizing those skills to thrive, thereby reducing staffing costs and improving productivity.With a Master&#x27;s degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia, Latosia is proud to be a Registered Professional Planner in Alberta, a member of the Canadian Planning Institute, A certified Professional Project Manager and a certified speaker, coach and trainer with the John Maxwell Team.Nigel Joseph

Nigel AR Joseph believes that challenges in life are beyond personal growth, but to help others as best as we can. In 2020, he founded MindFull Solutions Inc. for that reason. MindFull uses wearables devices and smart clothing to give knowledge of being better than yesterday. Before MindFull Solutions, Nigel has had the privilege to blur the line between product development, design and research influencing companies such as, Lululemon, Pearl Izumi, adidas International, and Tommy Hilfiger. Most recently Nigel was one of four selected for the Innovate Calgary&#x27;s Life Science Fellowship cohort #4.
