Volunteer Morning with The Mount

The Experiential Education Department at UPEI helps students build bridges between their university learning and the world of work. Our office offers numerous free workshops and events to help UPEI students develop a range of personal and professional skills. We also support students through coordinating experiential learning opportunities, enabling students to apply what they are learning in the classroom in real world contexts while expanding their growth.

The Mount Continuing Care Community

Gain volunteer experience in our community! In partnership with the UPEI Experiential Education Department, <a href="http://www.themountcommunity.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">the Mount Continuing Care Community</a> will host a group of student volunteers to help with a Valentine&#x27;s Day themed Sip and Paint where you can sip mocktails, enjoy treats, and paint with residents. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community, meet other students, and gain some new skills.T﻿he Mount is a resident care facility, where residents live and are supported in their daily lives. Many of the residents are seniors. As part of living at the Mount, residents can participate in a variety of fun events and activities, such as this one where they will sip mocktails and paint with students. By participating, you will get to help with the event and interact with residents. You will brighten their day while gaining some experience volunteering with a local organization.T﻿he Mount is located close to UPEI at 141 Mount Edward Road. There is a trail that connects the UPEI Campus and the Mount. For this event, we will meet on campus and walk as a group to the Mount.All those participating are asked to meet at the Career Studio, room 209 Dalton Hall on campus, at 9:30 am. Please be on time as we will be walking over to the Mount and won&#x27;t be waiting for anyone if they&#x27;re late. If you have any questions, please contact Community and Industry Outreach Coordinator Susie Zavala at szavala@upei.ca.Register by Monday, February 13th at 9:00 am. Space is limited.
