Offered as a lunch or after-work networking event. Lunch events will be a similar format to luncheons but with a fresh approach and in a revolving local business. Evening events feature hand-held bites in new locations and opportunities for networking!

<h3>A﻿BOUT OUR SPEAKER:</h3><p>Joining the Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation in 2017, Martin Stegman has had the opportunity to work on a broad range of files including fostering local training and employment opportunities on major construction projects, managing economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, and better representing youth perspectives in government decision making. Based in Nelson since 2019, Martin remains passionate about rural economic development and bridging the gap between rural and urban residents and policy makers.</p><p>Born and raised in Nelson, Martin has lived much of his life in rural British Columbia. Following high school, Martin left Nelson to travel and eventually pursue post-secondary education, attaining a Master of Public Administration from the University of Victoria, with a focus on economic development. He subsequently worked for the Department of International Trade in Ottawa before moving to Istanbul, Turkey to produce economic reports on developing countries. Despite the cultural differences among countries covered, Martin recognized many of the same rural challenges that he witness in rural B.C., inspiring him to return home and seek opportunities where he could have more direct impact.</p>
