It's National Social Work Month! Please join the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers for our second Advocacy Day conference.

Social justice

Members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers are required to complete annual professional development, which must include learning and activities related to the pursuit of social justice. See https://nscsw.org/pd/#pdMandated for more info.

<p>Advocacy Day creates opportunities for social workers, social work students and social work educators to join together with clients and community organizations in advocating for change in Nova Scotia.</p><p>Come and listen to social justice advocates from social work and beyond, as well as those with first voice experiences, as we come together to share our hopes, concerns, ideas and recommendations with our elected leaders and consultants who have been tasked with reconfiguring our health care system. </p><p>O﻿ur one-day conference will also serve as the launch for our "More than a Diagnosis" campaign. In preparation for that campaign, we're holding advocacy training sessions throughout February and March; <a href="https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/531380101187" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NSCSW members are encouraged to register for one of these sessions separately</a>. </p>
Note: For members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, participation in this event may be eligible for fulfilling the mandatory requirement for annual professional development activities related to the pursuit of social justice.
