The Quebec Public Interest Research Group at McGill is a non-profit, student-run organization that conducts research, education, and action on environmental and social justice issues at McGill University and in the Montreal community. With such a broad mandate, QPIRG brings together a wide range of activists interested in many different issues.

From mental health crises to COVID-19 and chronic illnesses - capitalism/ colonialism are making us all sick in different ways and destroying the planet at large. We've been taught to think about our health &amp; wellbeing in a vacuum. Our health is tied to the health of our community, the land, flora, fauna &amp; every part of our ecosystems. We're part of nature, not separate from it. How do we address our distress through a political, collectivist lens and step away from individualistic, pathologizing, colonial, profit-driven models of "healing"? What do we need to truly be healthy and how can we build those networks of interdependence &amp; mutual care? How can we take care of the land so it may care for us?Ayesha Khan, Ph.D., (she/ they) is an abolitionist, scientist, artist, and educator, and they organize and lead in the fields of science, medicine, healing, community care, and social justice. This unique confluence brought Dr. Khan to lead the movement called abolitionist science.This event is part of our week-long event series, Spring into Action, which will take place from March 10-22.
