The Effie Arts Collective is Kamloops’ newest event venue offering a place for the community to gather together and experience “Collective Effervescence” – a sociological phenomenon where members of an audience experience the same feeling at the same time while watching a live performance like a comedy show, concert, or play.The Effie is an Assembly Hall available for local companies and individuals  to rent for events and gatherings.422 Tranquille Rd

The Effie Arts Collective Presents Coffee House with Special Guest Claire CouplandThere is a pureness to Claire&#x27;s voice that can silence a room. A moving songwriter and compelling guitarist, Claire combines smooth folk finger picking, jazz influenced progressions and soaring melodies. She effortlessly pulls her audience into her personal world of life experiences. Like many others, the stasis of the pandemic left Claire Coupland to look inward toward a collection of stories and songs that had been lying dormant in her imagination. Darker and more vulnerable reckonings of self worth, escaping abuse, painful goodbyes, fragile family dynamics and hope for the future are all intricately woven themes in her sophomore album entitled, “New Light”, coming February, 2023. After joining forces with Juno award winning musician Sam Weber (Bahamas) and some of LA’s finest musicians (Dawes, Alan Hampton, Garret Lang), the album presents fresh and spontaneous arrangements of her songs with mood filled percussion, slinky guitars, sparkling piano and shades of grunge and California rock. Claire Coupland brings a graceful contemporary feel to indie folk music, always with a touch of her “wicked sense of humour” (Rik Emmett, Triumph). Open Mic 1 to 2pmShow 2:30 pm
