Pace is the primary sexual violence counselling, educational, and support centre in the Northwest Region. Established in 1981, Pace provides therapeutic support services to those impacted by sexual violence, domestic violence, crisis, and trauma. P﻿lease join us in raising awareness for sexual violence by attending Trauma-Informed Yoga in the Park at Muskoseepi Park Amphitheatre on Sunday, June 18th, 2023! This event is brought to you by PACE Centre, in collaboration with Odyssey House and IMPACT. T﻿he event will be held on the hill by the amphitheater from 12:00pm-3:00pm on June 18, 2023. This event is free of charge! Some extra yoga mats will be available but we recommend bringing your own just in case. Light lunch, cupcakes, and refreshments will be available prior to the yoga event. An informational booth with related upcoming events and support programs and services within the community will also be set up on the grounds.W﻿e hope you&#x27;ll join us in coming together as a community to raise awareness for Sexual Violence! #﻿HealthyPeopleFeel

Trauma-informed yoga is practiced in a safe space with teachers or therapists who respect you and your boundaries. They can help you learn how to control and manage what your body and mind are going through. As you combine movement and breath, you start building back those mind/body connections.As a sexual assault survivor, Jen Edwards has used the work she’s done to overcome her own trauma to help others heal. She believes in the power of community, compassion, and understanding of one another’s pain, and her hope is to build a community of people supporting one another to allow healing within themselves. Through her trauma-based training, she helps guide people to feel safe in their bodies, build self-trust, and bring a sense of calm throughout their systems. “Healing is powerful work, and doing it as a community gives us strength&quot;.
