AltaABA Guest Speaker Event: Navigating Ethical, Cultural, and Compliance Issues in Applied Behaviour Analysis.

Please join us for a virtual, 3 -hour presentation that will focus on navigating ethical, cultural, and compliance issues in applied behaviour analysis. CEU ELIGIBILITY: 3 BACB Ethics CEUs Keynote Speaker: Dr. Anthony Cammilleri, BCBA-D, LABA - Compassion Over Compliance: Exploring a Contemporary, Compassionate, and Trauma-Assumed Form of ABA.With Guest Speakers: Jacob A. Sadavoy, BCBA - Cultural Responsiveness. Ann Beirne, BCBA - Ethical Decision Making. Dr. Anthony CammilleriDr. Cammilleri is a Board Certified and Licensed Behavior Analyst, as well as a Licensed Special Education Administrator, who was degreed in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas. While completing his graduate studies, he served as the Principal of Century School in Lawrence, KS. Upon graduation, he served as a Behavior Analyst for the Somerset Hills Learning Institute in Far Hills, NJ. For the next 10 years, Dr. Cammilleri served as the Director of the Jane Justin School in Fort Worth, TX. After moving back to New England, Dr. Cammilleri served as the President/CEO of Crossroads School in Marlborough, MA from 2014 to 2019.Dr. Cammilleri specializes in the design of individualized curriculum sequences, the use of measurement systems to assess the effectiveness of those sequences, and in the staff training required for the implementation of both. He is best known for educational leadership that promotes the virtues of citizenship, friendship, and scholarship – the elements of an inclusive community whose members care for their world and one another, and enjoy a lifelong love of learning.Currently, Dr. Cammilleri is an FTF Lead Consultant and Director of Education who helps organizations build behavior analytic capacity in the areas of cultural design, instructional design, staff training, policy development, and the practical functional assessment and skill-based treatment of severe problem behavior.Jacob A. SadavoyJacob A. Sadavoy (he/him) is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst with over 20 years of experience applying the principles of applied behaviour analysis in home programs, clinical centre-based programs, school environments both as a teacher and educational consultant as well as hospitals throughout North America. To date, Jacob has travelled to fifteen different countries to collaborate with local clinicians to develop culturally-informed, socially significant, behaviour analytic strategies centred around the clients&#x27; local environment.The ethical challenges and barriers of disseminating ABA effectively domestically and throughout the world culminated in Understanding Ethics in Applied Behavior Analysis: Practical Applications. Jacob also sat as the 2019 Vice President of the Ethics and Behavior Analysis Special Interest Group as well as Teamwork Healthcare&#x27;s Clinical Board. Jacob&#x27;s key areas of interest are ethics, supervision, sustainable dissemination, social justice, and services across the lifespan. Jacob&#x27;s interest in social justice and compassionate care has culminated in a tome called A Scientific Framework for Compassion and Social Justice: Lessons in Applied Behavior Analysis. In addition, the 2nd edition of the aforementioned Ethics text was on shelves December 2021 and featured key distinctions in the BACB&#x27;s updated code.Jacob co-founded an Organizational Behavioural Management consulting company, CB Consultants, with Michelle Zube with the mission to promote employee wellness throughout the organization. CB Consultants also looks to promote effective training by establishing Communities of Practice. After a training, a Professional Learning Community is established to transform presentations into places where attendees can share experiences and learn together in a collective. Ann BeirneAnn Beirne, M.A. BCBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over two decades of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder.Ms. Beirne is passionate about the importance of professional development for students of behavior analysis, as well as emerging and seasoned behavior analysts. She has professionals on five continents and consults with centers serving individuals with autism all over the world as the Director of Professional Development at the Global Autism Project, a not-for-profit service organization with which she has had an association for over a decade.Ms. Beirne is co-author of the textbook Understanding Ethics in Behavior Analysis: Practical Applications available from Routledge Publishing in 2019.Ms. Beirne’s areas of interest include ethics, staff and parent training, telehealth, and dissemination of behavior analysis methodologies. Ms. Beirne obtained her B.A. from Binghamton University and her M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College specializing in early childhood special education. She was a premier recipient of the Elijah Foundation Scholarship. She is currently in the special education doctoral program at the Fischler College of Education at Nova Southeastern University. She also has a background in musical theater and opera and was leader of song at St. Augustine’s RC Church in Park Slope, Brooklyn. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children.
