<h3>— </h3><h3>MORE ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:</h3><ul><li>Kate Gibbs, <a href="https://www.canassist.ca" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Count Me In </a></li></ul>
I am an inclusion educator through my business <a href="https://www.facebook.com/people/Count-Me-In/100069694146893/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Count Me In</a>. I was diagnosed with moderate Cerebral Palsy (CP), and I have lived in beautiful Invermere for 28 years. You can either find me walking or zipping around town in my electric wheelchair.
In my wonderful and full life with my supportive family and friend, as a teen before graduating from high school, CanAssist* invited me to speak to the Canadian Parliament; I co-authored a children’s book; I was a torch bearer and reporter for the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics and with assistance, I even climbed to the top of the Bugaboos.
As a young adult, I have attended college and university, obtaining certifications in Human Services programs. I am continuing college studies in Psychology and have had many opportunities for meaningful employment.
My lifelong dream of having an inclusion curriculum in schools is now coming true. In partnership with School Districts, businesses, organizations, and the general public, “Count Me In” presentations invite employers to be educated, active advocates who ensure inclusion and accessibility are essential components in all jobs and careers.
My belief is when inclusion is a standard community practice, an important result is meaningful employment for everyone, because when people know better, they do better!

Three years ago, Tanelle worked seven days a week, managed two companies, plus her own interior design company. She was also bartending three nights a week and had just discovered a love for fitness competition.
Now, Tanelle is paralyzed, wheelchair bound and trying to pursue national athletics while raising awareness of independence despite of mobility issues. Tanelle is actively working to make British Columbia more accessible to those individuals.
