Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is an independent non-profit public art gallery committed to the acquisition, presentation, interpretation and dissemination of contemporary art for the benefit of the local arts community. Its programs explore a variety of issues and include exhibitions, talks, lectures, tours and publications. OAG has a growing permanent collection of historical and contemporary works associated with the region. It also houses the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art, which consists of more than 1,600 works of art assembled by Ottawa collectors O.J. and Isobel Firestone, who acquired the works from the early 1950s to the 1970s.__________

This workshop is part history lesson and part hands-on learning, you will learn about henna tattoos&#x27; origin story and the culture behind it. Along with how to hold and design your very own unique henna design for your hands.Reservations are required for this event and all materials will be provided. Naheen Ahmed (she/her) is an Ottawa-based artist who explores culture and disability through her art, under the name Self_Saboteur. She is not a henna artist for hire but loves teaching others about different art techniques and art history of South Asia.In partnership with Kindspace. Tous les matériaux sont fournis et un goûter sera servi.Venez apprendre à faire vos propres tatouages au henné ! Cet atelier est à la fois une leçon d&#x27;histoire et un apprentissage pratique. Vous découvrirez l&#x27;histoire de l&#x27;origine des tatouages au henné et la culture qui s&#x27;y rattache. Vous apprendrez également à tenir le sac pour la pâte et dessiner votre propre motif au henné pour vos mains.Assurez-vous de réserver puisque les places et les quantités de matériaux sont limitées !
