The Wagashi Event will feature different Japanese confections served on dishes made by Wei. Guests can expect to learn the history and technique behind the sweets as well as get insights on the plating process. The event is meant to be educational while stimulating meaningful dialogue on food, culture and function ware. Each 90-minute session includes: <ul><li>Suhama Higashi – welcome sweet </li><li>2 x Wagashi - Kudzu Sakura &amp; </li><li>Iris Nerikiri (per guest) </li><li>introduction &amp; background about each wagashi </li><li>iris nerikiri demonstration </li><li>two teas to accompany the sweets </li></ul>ABOUT TEAKAN Teakan Tea Co. is an AAPI womenowned tea company based in Vancouver, Canada. Having done a wagashi and tea pop up with Cultivate tea and as a contributing writer and researcher for ITSUMO life’s seasonal articles, Sen loves working with like minded people who balance tradition with innovation in the food and art community.
