Our mission is to provide support, prevention, education and outreach services from an integrated anti-racism anti-oppression social justice framework that promotes the holistic wellbeing of those living with, affected by, impacted by and at risk of HIV/AIDS in Ottawa.

Calling all Black women and Black gender-diverse community members,
join us on July 29th and July 30th for Hair, Mind, Body & Soul!

Sandy Hill Community Centre

In partnership with Co-CREATH, Umoja, Canadian Women of Colour Leadership Network, Ottawa Public Health and Somerset West Community Health Centre Supported by donations from Cloré Beauty Supply, LUSH and Curl WarehouseNOTE: this location is wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking infront of the building, a ramp and accessible washroomsJoin us on Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th (2pm-7pm) for a two-part collective self-care gathering for Black women and Black gender-diverse community members. This will be an event centering self-care and HIV self-testing, as Black women account for 60% of all HIV diagnoses amongst women in Ontario. We aim to create culturally-safe spaces for Black women and Black gender-diverse folks to talk freely about hair health, mental health, sexual health, skin care, plant care and HIV self-testing and how all can be seen as forms of self-care.See schedule below:July 29th - Hair: hair maitenance tips and protective styles for the summer monthsJuly 29th- Mind: destigmatizing Black mental health through a writing workshopJuly 30th - Body: focus on re-centering ourselves through skincareJuly 30th - Soul: guided meditation and a Rooted workshop to reset and reclaim our roots &amp; to close the eventMeal and refreshments will be provided!
