It’s eclectic and electric.We are holding an in-person workshop on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:00 - 8:30 pm for members of the public, and for businesses and organizations involved in the Granville Street area downtown to help shape a new and improved Granville Street! Together, let’s celebrate and imagine the future of Vancouver’s main street and entertainment district as an exciting, welcoming, safe, and inclusive downtown destination that is alive with activity, day and night. <ul><li>Location: Classroom C440 , UBC Robson Square</li></ul><ul><ul><ul>800 Robson Street Vancouver, BC, V6Z 3B7</ul></ul><li>Timing: Doors open at 6:45 pm, with the workshop starting at 7:00 pm.</li><li>Free entry: Attendance is free, but the event has limited capacity. </li><li>Getting here: Participants are encouraged to arrive by transit, foot or bike. Paid underground parking can be accessed from Howe Street at Nelson Street for those who need it. </li><li>Accessibility: The workshop is located in a UBC Robson Square classroom. The elevator access is via the entrance on Hornby Street at Robson Street. </li><li>Social Media: Follow this topic online using the hashtag #GranvillePlan</li></ul>The workshop will have space for approximately 30 participants and is designed around the topics most interesting and valuable to you. Your feedback will help us confirm a vision and objectives for Granville Street in the future, and we will dive into some early ideas for how achieve this vision: a welcoming and inclusive entertainment and cultural district where performance, creativity and heritage inspire innovative businesses, creative retail and dining experiences, bustling tourism, and a diverse night time economy.During the workshop there will be an opportunity to discuss three main topic areas: <ol><li>Arts, culture and entertainment</li><li>Public space and transportation</li><li>Development, tourism and economy </li></ol>GENERAL INFORMATIONCommunity Guidelines<ul><li>S﻿peak to be understood</li><li>Listen to understand</li><li>Hear from one voice at a time</li><li>Share opportunities for speaking time evenly</li><li>Respect others' opinions and experiences</li></ul>Our community guidelines are intended to ensure the safety of all guest speakers and event participants, and to foster honest, socially accountable dialogue at our events. At the workshop we'll ask you if there are other community guidelines you'd like to add.Speakers will attempt to respond to as many questions as possible, and participants will share the space equitably by participating and leaving room for others to participate.
