<h2>Multi-day Lecture Series for the first 10 nights of Muharram</h2><p></p><h3>July 18 to July 28: lectures nightly at 7:30pm </h3><h3>July 22: seminar and discussion from 11am to 2:30pm </h3><h3>July 28: Ashura day amaals, starting at 11:30am; Majlis at 7:30pm</h3><p></p><p>Over 10 nights, join OIL and distinguished guest speaker from the UK Imranali Panjwani as we present our Muharram lecture series for 2023, entitled, “<strong><em>Qur’anic parallels between the mission of Imam al-Husayn and Prophet Muhammad: The contemporary relevance of Surat al-Qalam.</em></strong>”</p><p></p><p>This event is also known and marketed under its short  title: </p><p><em>"</em><strong><em>A Qur'anic Reading of Karbala: Comparing the Goals of Imam al-Husayn &amp; Prophet Muhammad.</em></strong><em>"</em></p><p></p><p>Dr Panjwani will lead us through Surat al-Qalam (no.68) to demonstrate the similarities between Imam al-Husayn’s (a.s) stand against immorality in Karbala and Prophet Muhammad’s (s.a.w) goal of moral reform in Makkah and Madinah. Together we will also examine contemporary challenges, such as new age spirituality and technological challenges to our faith.</p><p></p><h3>Program starts each night at 7:30pm from July 18 to July 28. </h3><p></p><h3>Please consider attending our free interactive seminar: </h3><p>There is a bonus weekend seminar hosted by Dr Panjwani on Saturday July 22 from 11am – 2:30pm. The seminar is entitled <a href="https://www.islamiclearning.org/oils-muharram-seminar-saturday-22-july/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">"Navigating New Age Spiritualities &amp; Technologies Today: Who are We as Human Beings and What Will We Become?"</a> Join us for an invigorating group discussion. And remember to please bring a copy of your ticket to the event, either on your device or as a printout. </h3><p></p><h3>About Dr Imranali Panjwani: </h3><p>Dr. Imranali Panjwani is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford, UK. He is also the head and founder of Diverse Legal Consulting (www.diverselegal.com), a consultancy that specializes in country-expert reports for asylum seekers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. He obtained his PhD in Theology &amp; Religious Studies from King’s College London and pursued legal studies at the University of Sheffield, University of Law and the University of Notre Dame, Sydney. He completed his Islamic seminary studies at Al-Mahdi Institute and post-doctoral research at Jam’iat al-Mustafa, Mashhad.
