Did you know that the museum has a “living exhibition”? The Unity Indigenous Plant Garden- was created in partnership with the Musqueam, Skwxwu7mesh and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. The Garden was also planted and designed by T&#x27;uy&#x27;t&#x27;tanat Cease Wyss, Indigenous Plant diva from the Skwxwú7mesh Nation.This summer, we invite you to take special guided plant walk in of the Garden with Katzie educator and knowledge-holder Deanna Miller. Deanna will highlight the Indigenous uses of the plants that are featured in the Garden, as well as speak to the connections between plants, land and language. Date: Friday, August 11, 2023  Time: 1:00pm - 1:45pmTickets: $30 General Admission, $25 Seniors (65+), MOV Members, Students (with ID), $20 Indigenous Peoples(A service fee, processing fee and GST is also applied to ticket sales)Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early for the tour to register and meet with the group. Meeting point will be at the MOV’s Unity Garden courtyard – accessible downstairs via stairs and/or elevator. Meet your guide:Deanna Miller is from Katzie First Nation and was born and raised on Katzie ancestral land in the Langley territory. šxʷne:m is a word in the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language that means healer. In an effort to return to the ways of her ancestors, she makes medicines from plants she harvests from her land. All products are handmade in small batches with intention, love and respect. She enjoys all opportunities to share this ancestral knowledge through workshops and plant walks.
