Welcome to our Trailblazer’s Wilderness Expedition! This is a full day, immersive outdoor experience for kids ages 7-11. This experience has been designed to provide children with an exciting and wild outdoor experience that allows their innate curiosity and one-of-a-kind energy to thrive. This expedition ignites their desire for challenges, adventure, and exploration, encouraging them to take risks, get dirty, and grow their confidence.T﻿his expedition will be hosted at Hidden Valley Ski Hill - 1655 Hidden Valley Road, Huntsville. Giving children the opportunity to explore the magic of this property beyond the beauty of skiing. Thank you to Hidden Valley Ski Hill for this wonderful opportunity.What to expect:1﻿. Kids hunting for the perfect stick as the foundation for their design2. Learning to carve and whittle using rocks and other items in nature3. Using natural materials as well as paints and craft supplies to design 4.Learning how to work with nature and also letting their imagination run wild5. Completing a design piece all their own to take homeFoundations we will be building on while having fun: A﻿t Muskoka Highlands Academy we believe every child needs these traits in order to thrive for the future. Lunch 2. Appropriate outdoor clothing, Footwear and bug protective clothing or spray3. A hat/sun protection/sunscreen (a lot of the day will be spent in tree-shaded areas) 4. A basket for nature-collections5. A notebook/journal they may want to record findings, drawing, and ideas with Y﻿ou will received a detailed agenda for the day once you have signed up along with drop off and pick up instructions. Meet your guide for the day!Jessi is the creator and lead guide of our Wilderness Expedition Program. Her wildly curious &amp; passionate nature is what allows her to connect so deeply with children and guide them into the world of wonder that exists in the forests and lands of our beautiful Earth. Jessi has graduated with a teaching and ECE degree from the Concurrent Education Program at the University of Windsor, teaching play-based learning in different parts of the world, now settling in the abundant nature of Northeastern Ontario, where she has been practising mushroom foraging for the past 6 years and guiding educational foraging hikes for the past 2. Jessi’s dream is to dedicate her life &amp; career to creating a new pathway for education, through nature, while providing an enriching and transformational learning environment for children to reach their greatest heights.
