Join the Alberta Craft Gallery as we visit three local design studios - Bay 1 Gallery/ Reichenbach Design, Crete Collective, and FORGE 53° for a special tour as part of <a href="https://www.edmontondesignweek.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Edmonton Design Week</a>. All three studios are currently represented in Alberta Craft Gallery’s current exhibitions; the Group Feature Exhibition <a href="http://www.albertacraft.ab.ca/feature-gallery-exhibition/furniture" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Furniture</a>, and the Discovery Gallery Solo Exhibition <a href="https://www.albertacraft.ab.ca/discovery-gallery-exhibitions/proven-form-modern-perspective" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Proven Form - Modern Perspective</a><a href="https://www.albertacraft.ab.ca/discovery-gallery-exhibitions/everyday-one-of-a-kind" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a> with Ralph Reichenbach. Gain unique insight into each studio’s vision and process as they share their passion and artistry for design and furniture. We will meet initially at Bay 1 Gallery and spend approximately 45 minutes at each location. Please note that it is a 4 minute drive/7 minute bike ride between Bay 1 Gallery to FORGE 53° and Crete Collective, Alberta Craft representatives will be on hand to transport those without a vehicle between the studios if required. All locations have free parking in front or nearby their front entrances. Bay 1 Gallery parking options include within the fenced area to the left of the Gallery entrance as well as street parking. There is a parking lot and street parking available at the Crete Collective and Forge 53° building (both are located in the same complex). 

All three studios are currently represented in Alberta Craft Gallery’s current exhibitions; the Group Feature Exhibition Furniture, and the Discovery Gallery Solo Exhibition Proven Form - Modern Perspective with Ralph Reichenbach. Gain unique insight into each studio’s vision and process as they share their passion and artistry for design and furniture.

Following the event we invite you to join us and the exhibiting artists downtown for a public reception of both exhibitions at the Alberta Craft Gallery from 2-4pm. There is free parking behind the building. Please note that the Alberta Craft Gallery is not wheelchair accessible, for full information see here.

About the Studios: <a href="https://www.bay1gallery.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bay 1 Gallery</a> is dedicated to representing a roster of Canadian fine furniture makers artisans, and artists. Gallery owner and founder <a href="https://www.ralphreichenbach.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ralph Reichenbach</a> is a self-taught artist, furniture maker and designer having grown up in his father&#x27;s wood shop <a href="https://www.eberhards.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Eberhard&#x27;s Manufacturing</a>. He attended NAIT in the cabinet making program, graduated the program in one year, at the top of his class and then continued on as an instructor in the advanced woodworking and apprenticeship program for two years.  Over a number of years, he taught various workshops at NAIT and Red Deer Collage in marquetry. He specializes in the use of wood veneers and combines them with solid wood to create aesthetically pleasing, decorative and functional objects. His fine furniture pieces and wall hangings are often accented with the age-old craft of marquetry to create pictures that are inspired by his values and experience in life.   Ralph will also be giving a marquetry workshop on October 28, for more information see our <a href="https://www.albertacraft.ab.ca/acc-events" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Events page</a>.We are<a href="https://cretecollective.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">  Crete Collective</a>, founded by Sam Wilkins and Dallyn Volkman in 2020, a custom concrete fabrication firm that produces a line of bespoke concrete sinks and custom concrete projects for both residential and commercial spaces. Our products are designed and handcrafted to complement and enhance any space, reflecting the unique style and personality of all our clients. Our team of 3 meticulously designs and casts each product by hand. Every one of our pieces undergo careful hand-sanding and sealing to achieve a consistent and stunning finish. The collective in our name reflects our passion to work with others in our community to bring new concepts to life. <a href="https://www.forge53.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Forge 53°</a> is an Edmonton-based architectural metalwork firm founded in 2015. Inspired by the Canadian landscape, history, and industry, Forge 53° specializes in architectural metalwork such as railings, steel and glass doors, partition walls, interior cladding, custom furniture, and other custom interior design features. They have worked on projects across North America including Edmonton, Calgary, Kelowna, Vancouver, Montreal, California, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, and more. All of the product design and fabrication takes place in Edmonton, located on the 53rd northern parallel.  AccessibilityAll locations have free parking in front or nearby their front entrances. Bay 1 Gallery has street parking available. T﻿here is one step to access both Crete Collective and Forge 53°, there is an option to enter from the workshop bays at the back of the studios. There is a parking lot and street parking available at this venue. Washrooms are available but may not be fully equipped for wheelchair access.
