Edmond Rochette PelletierC﻿et événement est gratuit et ouvert à tou.te.sOriginaire de la ville Québec, Edmond Rochette Pelletier est un artiste multidisciplinaire basé à Tio’tia:ke / Montréal et diplômé en Arts visuels et médiatiques à l’Université du Québec à Montréal (2021). Grandement inspiré par la pluralité des expériences humaines avec la matière et l’espace, sa recherche se manifeste principalement par le biais de la sculpture, des arts médiatiques et d’interventions artistiques dans l’espace public. À la fois membre du centre d’artiste Oboro et de la coopérative de solidarité La Coulé, il a présenté son travail dans le cadre du colloque L’humanité qui ouvre organisé par Hexagram (2020). Il a de plus exposé à la Galerie de l’UQAM (2021), ainsi qu’à la Maison de la culture Marie-Uguay (2021).
“Jouer à se laisser tomber (Transit)”Inspirée par le désir d’illustrer la perte de contrôle, l’œuvre «Jouer à se laisser tomber» aborde le thème de la chute par le biais du déploiement de grandes sculptures de papier tombant du haut du ciel. Sous une nouvelle variante du projet, intitulée «Transit», l’artiste Edmond Rochette-Pelletier poursuivra sa volonté de décloisonner la notion d’espace. Si d’emblée il utilisait le ciel comme champ d’exploration, l’artiste expérimente cette fois le square Dorchester à titre d’atelier et les rues de Montréal en guise de terrain de jeu. En parallèle à l’idée de se laisser tomber et d’apprécier les forces qui nous emportent, cette performance sera tout autant une promenade du centre-ville jusqu’au parc Frédéric-Back, qu’un périple, de la création à la chute, en passant par la vie.0﻿9/09/2023 - 12h-16h*﻿*****Edmond Rochette PelletierT﻿his event is free and open to allOriginally from Québec City, Edmond Rochette Pelletier is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tio’tia:ke / Montréal with an Arts visuels et médiatiques degree from Université du Québec à Montréal (2021). Greatly inspired by the plurality of human experience with matter and space, his research mainly centers around sculpture, media arts, and art interventions in the public space. A member of both the Oboro artist centre and the solidarity cooperative La Coulée, he presented his work within the conference L’humanité qui ouvre, organized by Hexagram (2020). He also exhibited his work at Galerie de l’UQAM (2021) and the Maison de la culture Marie-Uguay (2021).
“Jouer à se laisser tomber (Transit)”Inspired by the desire to illustrate the loss of control, the artwork "Jouer à se laisser tomber" addresses the theme of falling through the deployment of large paper sculptures descending from the sky. Under a new variation of the project, titled "Transit," the artist Edmond Rochette-Pelletier will continue his endeavor to break down the confines of spatial perception. While initially utilizing the sky as a field of exploration, this time the artist experiments with Dorchester Square as a workshop and the streets of Montreal as a playground. In parallel to the concept of letting oneself fall and appreciating the forces that carry us, this performance will serve equally as a downtown stroll to Parc Frédéric-Back and an epic journey, encompassing creation, descent, and the journey of life.0﻿9/09/2023 - 12pm - 4pm
