La Guilde vous invite au vernissage de Clairères, une exposition de l’artiste montréalais Jean-Pierre Larocque présentée du 14 septembre au 19 novembre 2023.Tel un montreur d’ombres, l’artiste nous entraîne dans un univers onirique entre la céramique, le fusain et le dessin. Son processus est guidé par une curiosité pour les possibilités de la matière : « Le travail d’atelier est une véritable aventure ». Une œuvre commence sans idée préconçue, en abordant un thème, et s’élabore par de multiples transformations.Entre les grands fusains, véritables radiographies hantées par des apparitions en mouvance, ​les têtes anonymes, les chevaux transportant leurs bagages de mystères et les grands « vaisseaux » abstraits, Jean-Pierre Larocque décline un monde riche en inventions picturales. Ses personnages posent des questions sans offrir de réponses. Cette exposition est une invitation à les suivre, à les regarder longuement. Laissons leur nous dire leur étonnante odyssée dans un langage d&#x27;argile et de fusain.Au plaisir de vous compter parmi nous !La Guilde invites you to the opening of Glades, an exhibition by Montreal artist Jean-Pierre Larocque presented from September 14 to November 19, 2023.Taking us into a dreamlike world of ceramics, charcoal, and drawings, the artist’s work is nothing short of a spectacle of shadows. His process is informed by a curiosity for the possibilities of the chosen material: “Working in the studio is a true adventure”. A piece takes shape without preconceived ideas by exploring a theme and develops through a series of transformations.From large charcoals—genuine x-rays haunted by moving apparitions—to anonymous heads, horses carrying their mysterious baggage, and large abstract “vessels”, Jean-Pierre Larocque creates a whole world of pictorial invention. They ask questions without offering answers. The exhibition is an opportunity to follow them, to look at them at length. Allow them to tell their astounding odyssey in a language of clay and charcoal.Looking forward to counting you in!
