In honor of World Suicide Prevention Day (Sunday, September 10th 2023), CMHA Hamilton is pleased to announce that we are hosting several community training opportunities’ in Fall 2023 including safeTALK, ASIST and MHFA. These opportunities were brought forth under our <a href="https://mentalhealthcommission.ca/roots-hope/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Roots of Hope</a> suicide prevention project, which is a collaboration between CMHA Hamilton and the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton (SPCCH). As such, all trainings will be offered at-cost due to a generous donation from the SPCCH.Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) – In Person &quot;LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day face-to-face workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you&#x27;ll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring your comfort and safety.&quot; (Living Works, 2023)Wednesday, October 11th 2023 (8:30 AM -4:00 PM) and Thursday, October 12th 2023 (8:30AM - 4:00 PM) – Please note that this is a certificate based training which means you much be fully present for the ensure duration of the training (both days). No exceptions will be made. Cost: $50.00 + Eventbrite Registration Fee (reduced fee as this training was sponsored by the <a href="https://spcch.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SPCCH</a> * If the training is full and you would like to be placed on the wait list, please contact the Allie Myers(contact information below).
